The Webmaster is responsible for the online experience of the organization’s customers, partners, supplier and employees. By using industry standard approaches to design, updating content regularly and working with the IT department to ensure optimal availability, the Webmaster ensures that the organization’s online portal is among its best assets and offers a public “face” to the company on the Internet.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with management, business units and IT department to determine the Web site’s purpose, functions, requirements and long-term strategy
  • Work with internal or outside developers to create an effective user experience
  • Work with IT department to ensure optimal page loads, uptime and integration with business functions as appropriate
  • Establish policies and procedures around content management
  • Research emerging technologies and services that may enhance the Web experience and make recommendations to management
Qualifications
  • Post secondary education in Web design, with experience in content management
  • Some programming experience
  • Deep understanding of HTML, Ajax, Flash
  • Demonstrated leadership in project management
