The chief information officer manager aligns information technology to the goals of the business, identifying opportunities for enhancing business value through IT and creating a culture of collaboration and innovation through the effective use of software and hardware tools. The CIO directs the IT staff and works in partnership with divisional/departmental business leaders to ensure the smooth execution of strategy and data integrity across all company functions.

Responsibilities

•Defines the strategic direction of all information processing and communication systems and operations
• Allocating resources, budgeting for IT procurement and planning with an eye to innovation across all business units
• Monitor and validate the enterprise’s compliance with its security policies and industry regulations such as PIPEDA, Sarbanes-Oxley and Basel II
• Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within the organization.
• Oversees the back office computer operations of the affiliate management information system, including local area networks and wide-area networks. 
• Responsible for the management of multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, imaging, and office automation. 
• Designs, implements, and evaluates the systems that support end users in the productive use of computer hardware and software.
• Develops and implements user-training programs.
• Oversees and evaluates system security and back up procedures.


Qualifications

•Minimum of three years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of information systems and information technology
• A post-secondary degree in information systems management or computer science with additional training and experience in business management
• Proven track record in the direct management of a major IT operation, overseeing technology and information systems planning to support business goals. 
• Experience in the management of both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as support of in-house information and communication systems in a multi-site client-server environment. 
• Specific experience with practice management, financial management and other management information systems
• Experience in building a new model to serve the IT needs of a complex organization
• Has functioned at an operations level and in a complex multi-facility environment.
• Interested in serving as a mentor to others.
• Possesses strong business acumen with proven experience in thinking strategically and implementing tactically.
• Has handled demanding workloads to meet objectives.
• Is customer focused/service oriented, and has effectively affected change.
• Broad IT infrastructure and application architecture knowledge.
