Call to Action on Computer Crime

The federal government should make it illegal to create and distribute computer virus programs, says the Information Technology Association of Canada.

ITAC recently sent a letter to Anne McLellan, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, calling on the government to get tough with computer crime. ITAC recommends imposing stiffer penalties for committing computer crimes, and making it illegal to possess virus programs or materials to create viruses.
