SolarWinds has updated its storage performance and capacity management software with enhanced monitoring of EMC arrays, simpler charting and reporting the ability for IT administrators to customize monitoring equipment with their own LUN groupings.
The company said Thursday that the latest version of Storage Manager provides deeper visibility and enhanced manageability across the application stack.
Storage Manager can now automatically compile configuration information from EMC’s FAST VP bjects such as disk groups, virtual pools, tiers, policies, and storage groups. It also provides trending and forecasting of thin pools on VMAX. IT staff can now also use it to align storage with applications, organizations or business requirements through user-defined logical unit number (LUN) grouping. There’s also improved reporting and charting.
In addition to EMC arrays, Storage Manager also works with storage area network systems from NetApp, IBM, Dell and Hitachi Data Systems. It monitors performance and isolates hotspots while also mapping virtual machines to physical storage, automating storage capacity planning and reporting.
Storage Manager pricing starts at $2,995 and includes the first year of maintenance.
