Oracle to issue large vulnerability fix

January 15 will be a big day for users of Oracle Corp, software. The company will release patches to cover 86 vulnerabilities, including 16 for the MySQL open source database alone.
 
The company detailed the list of fixes here on its Web site.

While the fixes total 86, Oracle said they cover hundreds of its products. “Due to the threat posed by a successful attack, Oracle strongly recommends that customers apply Critical Patch Update fixes as soon as possible,” the statement said.
 
Oracle scores its vulnerabilities using the Common Vulnerability Scoring System. Under that, the most vulnerable of its applications under this patch release is the Mobile Server of Oracle Database Mobile/Lite Server.
 
Also covered are several versions of Oracle Database 10g and 11g.
