Salil joined Yaletown in 2010, and contributes over 20 years of experience in Canada’s private and public markets as an investor and executive who has helped to grow numerous successful technology companies. Salil led Yaletown’s emerging-growth investment in Bit Stew, which was acquired by GE Digital in 2016. He also leads Yaletown’s investments in Vizimax and Solegear. Earlier in his career, Salil was President and COO of Leitch Technology where he helped to grow the Canadian public company to more than a thousand employees with six global offices. Leitch was acquired for $600 million by Harris Communications (now Imagine). Salil also served as managing director at Counsel Corporation, a diversified mid-market private equity firm based in Toronto and New York. He began his career as a corporate finance lawyer at Torys LLP. In 2016-2017, Salil also chaired the TMX-backed Advancing Innovation Roundtable which delivered recommended actions to increase access to growth capital for Canadian technology companies as they progress beyond the seed and start-up stages.
