Visage is developing an amber alert system for lost pets, using patented facial identification algorithms along with internet and social media to reunite lost pets with their owners. Over 3.5 million pets are lost per year in the United States, existing technologies (tags, tattoos and embedded chips) are out-of-date and usually fail. More than 80% of dogs and 98% of cats are never returned to their rightful owners.
