Logitech’s improved tool for managing devices in multiple locations

Remote work has allowed productivity to continue during the pandemic, but it has also presented IT professionals with a variety of challenges. With hundreds of millions of people working from home, Logitech updated Sync, their existing device management platform, to bridge the widening gap between remote and in-office device administration and maintenance.

The update to Sync supports personal collaboration devices, such as webcams, headsets, and docking stations. Not only does this ensure video collaboration devices are healthy and up to date, but it also addresses organizational needs by making it easy for IT to manage conference rooms and workstations from a single cloud-based interface. Organizations can also optimize future purchases by using analytics to shed light on how devices and spaces are used.

“Distributed teams in work-from-anywhere organizations are tremendously productive. To keep that productivity at its peak, Sync enables IT teams to manage devices from the cloud, whether employees choose to work in a conference room, a hotdesk, or home office,” says Calvin Chang, Product Marketing Manager, Logitech Video Collaboration.

Logi Tune, a free app for customizing personal collaboration devices, provides easy set-up and control of devices for all users, no matter where they are working. Integrating Sync with Logi Tune allows IT to update headsets, webcams, and docking devices connected to personal computers, either at remote locations or in the office. The upshot for users is that Tune allows them to personalize their devices and participate in video meetings with pre-configured camera settings.

The hybrid workplace is here to stay, and the stakes are high as IT looks for ways to minimize disruptions resulting from increased requests for remote support and the need to equip workers with effective tools for remote meetings. With choice a hot commodity in these unsettled times, one major Sync benefit is that it integrates with the top collaboration platforms. Microsoft Teams, Zoom Rooms, Google Meet: they all work smoothly with Sync and are easy to deploy and maintain in multiple locations.

Sync’s new personal collaboration device management feature is available as a public beta globally and free for existing customers. Organizations can request early access to the phased rollout through the Sync Portal.
