Red Hat will end support for CentOS Linux 8 on December 31 with extended CentOS Linux 8 zero-day support that will continue until January 31, 2022.
There are other options for users to choose from, including CentOS Stream, AlmaLinux, Amazon Linux AMI 3.0, CloudLinux TuxCare Extended Lifecycle, CloudLinux OS, HPE ClearOS, Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux and Ubuntu.
Upon careful consideration of these options, AlmaLinux is considered a replica of RHEL and can perform almost the same function as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
