So it comes as no surprise that next week’s CeBit show in Germany is expected to highlight IT security systems from European vendors including bug-proof smart phones and messaging systems, according to a pre-conference news story.
Mikael Ricknas says in PCWorld.com that the continuing revelations from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden have helped security become a top issue in Europe, pushing even cloud computing to the side.
Ricknas says about 500 security companies out of the 3,500 exhibitors will be displaying their products at the show in Hanover.
The annual conference’s themes this year are mobility,cloud computing, social business and big data.
Keynote speakers include Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky Labs. Security evangelist James Lyne of Sophos is expected to demonstrate how many WLAN networks have poor protection, ESET will show the upcoming version of its Moible Security for Android solution, while DATEV will show its mIDentity air smart card reader that links to a handset using Bluetooth.
