Cloud Computing

File sharing and cloud content management company Box Inc. announced that it is hiring the senior vice-president of a key unit of SAP AG to head its global field operations.

Graham Younger, who is senior vice-president of the German software maker’s SucccessFactors/SAP Cloud unit will be joining Box as its new executive VP of worldwide field operations.

Prior to heading SAP’s (NYSE: SAP) human capital management suite business, Younger led the sales organizations of Oracle, TIBCO and IBM.

“His experience is a perfect fit for where we are taking Box, and as one of the most senior leaders in SAP’s cloud business, he helped some of the world’s largest enterprises move from on-premise systems and applications to the Web,” said Aaron Levie, Box CEO in a statement today. “Now is the time to bring Box into every other enterprise in the world…”

He said Younger will lead Box’s sales efforts globally to “accelerate our growth in large businesses” even as the company continues to serve small and medium sized companies.

Early last year, Box got a leg up on cloud rivals such as Dropbox and Egnyte by partnering with Autodesk (NASDAQ:ADSK), TIBCO (NASDAQ: TIBX) , Tidemark, CollabNet and others in a reseller program meant to expand its presence in the enterprise market.

Box’s rivals in the enterprise cloud collaboration market at Microsoft Corp. and IBM.
