Amazon to pay $2 monthly to users to monitor phone traffic

Amazon is providing a discount to its customers. Some Amazon users will now earn $2 per month for agreeing to share their traffic data with the retail giant, according to the agreement.

The offer is only available to Amazon Shopper Panel members, an invite-only reward program available to Amazon customers in the United States and the United Kingdom. The Amazon Shopper Panel pays users $10 for submitting ten receipts, and users can earn rewards by completing company surveys.

Amazon’s new invite-only Ad Verification program tracks what ads participants saw, where they saw them, and what time of day they saw them. This includes both Amazon’s own advertisements and third-party advertisements on the platform. Amazon also claims that it will not share any personal information obtained through the Shopper Panel with anyone else.

In the website’s “Rewards” tab, Amazon explains that users can enable ad verification to allow the company to confirm ads that users see from Amazon or third-party entities that use Amazon Ads. A promotional image about halfway down shows an interface with the option to enable paid ad verification on your device and earn a $2 monthly reward.

In accordance with its privacy notice, the company also stated that it will delete sensitive information such as prescription information from pharmaceutical receipts. According to the notice, participants can delete receipts they’ve uploaded to the app at any time. Participants can also opt out of the program at any time.
