Socialite, formerly EventBox, is like having a personal valet for your online social life. It lets you check Twitter, Facebook, Google Reader, Instapaper, Digg, Flickr, and good ol’-fashioned RSS feed in one single window. In addition to keeping up with what’s going on, you can get in on the action: you can reply and retweet on Twitter, post your own photos to Flickr, and “like” and comment on Facebook. You can view comments on Digg and Flickr photos, share and star headlines in Google Reader, and send just about anything to Instapaper to read later.
You can even add multiple accounts for each service, which might even give you the ammo to persuade your boss to spring for a license. Instead of just being social on company time, you can interact with the Twitter and Facebook communities around your brand or product. There’s even a “Silent Mode” for when you need to focus and suppress any Growl alerts you may have enabled.
