You can be a virtual Socialite

Being social is a lot of work these days: you gotta stay on top of Twitter, entertain your Facebook friends with games, Digg your favorite articles, explore your inner photographer on Flickr, and stay informed with Google Reader and Instapaper. If you’re tired of virtually huffing and puffing to keep up, Socialite 1.0 from Realmac Software may be your ticket to kicking back with social media.

Socialite, formerly EventBox, is like having a personal valet for your online social life. It lets you check Twitter, Facebook, Google Reader, Instapaper, Digg, Flickr, and good ol’-fashioned RSS feed in one single window. In addition to keeping up with what’s going on, you can get in on the action: you can reply and retweet on Twitter, post your own photos to Flickr, and “like” and comment on Facebook. You can view comments on Digg and Flickr photos, share and star headlines in Google Reader, and send just about anything to Instapaper to read later.

You can even add multiple accounts for each service, which might even give you the ammo to persuade your boss to spring for a license. Instead of just being social on company time, you can interact with the Twitter and Facebook communities around your brand or product. There’s even a “Silent Mode” for when you need to focus and suppress any Growl alerts you may have enabled.

As par for the course, Realmac Software gives you 30 days to get acquainted with a fully-functioning demo of Socialite. Users who purchased EventBox licenses will be contacted soon with free license upgrades. Everyone else can continue to use Socialite with up to three services for free. Those who want to use more services can purchase a license for $20.
