According to Seattle tech writer Jane Hodges, Microsoft has fourteams of futurists busily figuring out what Tomorrow will looklike. Three of them are tackling the usual – HR, procurement,outsourcing and the like. The fourth? They’re dealing with a worldwhich has gone back to the future. It’s a technophobic place, badlyburned by a major crash of information systems which, among otherthings, burns everybody’s credit cards. Everybody’s also a Luddite.The winner at the wire? Underwood.
