Tired of hackers? Fight back, says U.S. group

The best defence is a good offence, goes a saying.
 
That’s what a private group in the U.S. recommended this week out of frustration with hackers trying to steal intellectual property of organizations.
 
In effect, the group called the Commission on the Theft of American Intellectual Property, says the U.S. government should allow companies to fight back.

Defences would include being able to recover or render inoperable any intellectual property stolen over the Internet. But the group also suggests Washington consider giving organizations the power to strike back by implanting malware in the hacker’s network, or even physically disabling it.
