Secure Computing soups up spam filter

Secure Computing Corp. has announced its SecureMail hardware can now process more than seven million unique mail messages per day.

The product, which is designed to block spam, also encrypts sensitive e-mail and uses TrustedSource to provide real-time reputation scoring for URLs, domains, images, messages and IP addresses.

The vendor claims it can block more than 99 per cent of malicious messages and fewer than one in a million blocked messages are actually legitimate. It is also offering more warranty options, including a three-year guarantee it will replace or repair broken appliances the next business day. It also has an option for four-hour service, and five-year warranties.
