Salesnet Inc. Monday launched three versions of its hosted CRM software, designed for companies in the telecommunications, commercial lending, and advertising/media industries.
Boston-based Salesnet plans to release another round of vertically focused products in September.
The new offerings support industry-specific data structures and include preconfigured processes tailored to each business type. For example, Salesnet’s Telecommunications Services Edition includes telecom-specific workflow and lets users capture common industry data, such as products billed by a monthly recurring charge.
Salesnet’s Commercial Lending Edition includes predefined lending processes, such credit checks. In addition, database extensions let users capture content such as risk ratings, deposits, credits and loan-to-value percentages.
The Advertising/Media Sales Edition includes processes to capture common sales activities, such as insertion orders and advertising run dates. It also bundles the Traffic Directors Guild for America calendar, a broadcast calendar for managing cable, satellite and radio ad listings.
Salesnet’s vertical editions are available now. Pricing starts at US$104 per user, per month. Vertically focused CRM products are common from vendors that offer the type of CRM software users deploy on their own premises. Oracle Corp., PeopleSoft Inc., SAP AG and Siebel Systems Inc. offer vertical versions of their CRM software, for example.
But Salesnet is among the first of the online CRM service providers to go vertical.
Salesnet’s news comes just one month after Siebel announced plans to offer industry editions of its hosted CRM OnDemand service. Siebel’s first vertically focused services, targeting insurance, high tech, automotive, and communications and media industries, are due out this summer. Siebel says it will release additional versions for the financial services, life sciences, manufacturing and consumer goods industries in the winter.
