Open Text goes shopping again

Waterloo, Ont.-based Open Text Corp. opened its wallet again on Wednesday to snatch up Corechange Inc., an infrastructure software company based in Boston.

The deal represents Open Text’s third purchase in the last four months. Last November, the company bought Centrinity Inc., known for its messaging and collaboration solution, and last month it added Eloquent Inc. into its fold.

Open Text will likely integrate Corechange’s portal software with its Livelink collaboration and knowledge management (KM) system, offering a unified application in customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planing (ERP).

The company seems to be getting back on the acquisition track after a series of well-publicized debacles, including being outbid by Adobe Systems for Accelio Corp. last February.

The company is online at www.opentext.com.
