Montreal’s Neuraltic acquired by Guavus

Montreal-based mobile data analytics firm Neuraltic LLC has been snapped up by Guavus Inc. a company that develops Big Data analytics software.

The two firms intend to combine Neuraltic’s mobile marketing apps with Guavus’ network and customer care applications to develop tools that enable communications service providers (CPS) and other business to better understand information culled from subscriber profiles in order to make more money out of Big Data faster. The financial transaction between the two firms closed in December last year, but the companies only public announced the merger on Wednesday.

“In today’s fast-paced environment where new smart phones come and go in a quarter, businesses cannot afford to wait to integrate disparate tools or invest in expensive BI (business intelligence) projects to get access to valuable insights,” Anukool Lakhina, founder and CEO Guavus, said in a statement yesterday. “Businesses need to be in the know so they can make more intelligent and timely decisions across line of business functions.”

Big push on Big DataWith Neuraltic, he said, Guavus now has a “holistic data fabric” which integrates analytics capability across network, marketing and customer care areas.

“By joining forces, we provide CPSs with a single, integrated solution that is scalable to carrier-class environments, offers an immediate return on investment and makes timely decisions a reality,” said Louis Brun, founder of Neuraltic.

Neuraltic’s SevenFlow solution transforms massive volumes of unstructured data into compact and usable data sets, making them functional for multiple applications. The technology is designed for understanding mobile data and has an optimized process for extracting, transforming and storing mobile big data without the need for lengthy or custom integration work.

Guavus’ proprietary Big Data analytics solutions include the Guavus Reflex(TM) platform integrated with a suite of applications that enable intelligent and timely decision-making. It can be used to trigger business processes at the exact moment of need.

As part of the transaction, Guavus will retain its global headquarters in San Mateo, California and will now have offices in Singapore, London and Montreal plus research and development facilities in Gurgaon and Ahmedabad, India.
