Ontario-based enterprise data solutions provider, OnX Enterprise Solutions Inc., yesterday named Mike Cox as its new chief executive officer. Cox is replacing Canadian IT channel veteran Ed Vos, who helped build OnX into the Canadian channel leader it is today, according to a report filed by Jeff Jedras, assistant editor of Computer Dealer News.
He said OnX will continue to pursue opportunities in Canada and Europe as well as grow its operations in the United States.

Vos left OnX last month to pursue other opportunities. He was named CDN’s No. 9 Newsmaker for 2011 for overseeing acquisitions in Canada as well as the key purchase of Agilsys Inc. in Cleavland, Oh which gave OnX and foothold on the U.S. market.
Cox came onboard to OnX in 2012 to run the company’s U.S. business. He built the Agilsys base into a wider managed services operation south of the border.
Also a channel veteran, Cox was president and CEO of solutions provider Logicals Inc., for eight years. Before that, he held several senior positions at Hewlett-Packard including vice-president of North American sales.
Just a year ago, OnX spent $20 million to upgrade its data centre facilities in Canada to achieve Tier 3 status and target growth opportunities in the cloud and enterprise data centre space.
The facility enabled OnX to rapidly grow both in Canada and the U.S. Among its customers are BlackBerry Ltd. and eHealth Ontario. The company is also planning a major midmarket push this year.
“We had new bookings in the neighbourhood of $30 million last year in Canada and we’ll do 1.5 times more in orders this year,” said Cox. “It made OnX a force to reckon with in Canada.”
