Licence pricing at heart of state

On Sept. 23, the Massachusetts government made an official announcement that effective Jan. 1, 2007 all state documents must be saved in the OpenDocument file format and all state IT systems can use only applications that provide native support for OpenDocument. Since Microsoft says it has no plans to support OpenDocument, it will be shut out of the Massachusetts account.
