Instantiations releases new tool versions for Eclipse developers

Santa Clara, Calif.-based software quality and productivity tools provider Instantiations Inc. released “a significantly enhanced” version of CodePro AnalytiX Server, among other announcements, aimed at Eclipse developers.

The enhanced server edition of CodePro AnalytiX automates Java code auditing, gathers metrics, performs code coverage analysis, and reports on JUnit test and other results for development areas. Also, development managers can view software quality trends via a Web-based dashboard.

“Our customers want to be able to analyze trend data to help them improve the quality of their software and to meet tight development deadlines,” said Eric Clayberg, vice-president of product development.

The company also announced Graphical Editing Framework (GEF) support for WindowTester Pro. GEF is an open source framework dedicated to providing a rich, consistent graphical editing environment for applications build using Eclipse technology.

“The latest version of CodePro AnalytiX and WindowTester will further help enterprise application development organizations by offering great tools for automating software quality,” Mike Milinkovich, executive director of the Eclipse Foundation.

As well, a new relationship was announced with CodeGear to integrate Swing Designer, part of the WindowBuilder suite, into JBuilder 2008. CodeGear will provide Swing Designer visual layout tools as an integrated feature of its popular JBuilder Java IDE when it becomes generally available in the first half of 2008.
