Infor Global Solutions has added two more modules to its SunSystems Query & Analysis business intelligence suite.

Called Evolve and Infor BI Dashboards, they are aimed at helping organizations ,made ad-hoc queries for users with various data analytic skills.

Evolve is a Web service enabled and cloud ready solution that leverages Microsoft Excel, allowing users the ability to drill down, breakout, and expand views at both a detailed transactional level and/or summary level. Employees from all lines of business can harness this powerful, ad-hoc querying and analysis tool to increase efficiency and streamline operations, the company said. Users also get a top-down view of the entire business through dynamic reporting capabilities, it added, and can easily analyze trends, problems, and opportunities that are often concealed within corporate transactional data.

BI Dashboards are for more skilled users who can drill down to transactional details either through a Web browser or an Apple iPad app. As a result users have 24/7 access to critical information and operations with self-service reporting and dashboards, the company said.  It added that the creation of dashboards is based on the simple and intuitive way in which a query is constructed in business terminology by the user.

“Organizations need real business intelligence and reporting proficiency in order to know which direction to take when acquiring new companies, launching new products and finding new ways to beat out the competition,” Suzanne Wilt, Infor’s industry and solution strategy director, said in a statement. Infor. “Infor developed these two new tools to provide our customers with a system that would provide immediate access to relevant information to help them make informed recommendations and strategic decisions.”

Query & Analysis is a family of tools that also includes Context, a centralized platform for collaboration; Alert, which lets users create, edit and schedule tasks, which then can be run automatically; and Datalink Studio, which lets users create and modify metadata layers so other employees can access data.
