The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has issued a code of conduct regarding local exchange carrier (LEC) access to multi-unit buildings. The code deals with installation practises to minimize impact on building tenants and that follow various legal and industry regulations. It also includes an escalation process LECs can turn to when they are denied entry or otherwise believe they are being unjustly discriminated against by building owners. Copies of the documents are available from the CRTC Web site at www.crtc.gc.ca, or by contacting the public examination room of any CRTC office.
