IBM updates social business platform

IBM has released a new version of its social business platform, promising to bring big data analytics to gain insight into social networks.

As this story from ComputerWorld U.S. details, Connections 4.0 offers an improved interactive activity stream, broader support for mobile devices, more granular usage analytics and integration with email and calendar systems.
In a news release accompanying the announcement, IBM said the platform — available in on-premise versions or in the cloud — has the ability to flag important information for action.

Few enterprises doubt that with the rise of social networks they not only need to get on top of what’s being said about them outside the organization, they also need to leverage social media platforms for staff inside as well.
