IBM Corp. and SuSE Linux on Thursday announced the opening of a new software integration centre in Toronto, which will support customers and better enable the integration of SuSE Linux with IBM offerings, according to the companies.
Initially, the partnership will focus on IBM DB2 Universal Database, however other IBM software products will later be added to the scope of the deal.
At the centre, which is located at IBM’s Toronto Lab, the firms will work on migration, porting, certification and support of future DB2 software offerings on the SuSE Linux Enterprise Server platform, the companies said in a statement.
According to SuSE, its enterprise server product is the first Linux OS to be validated on all hardware platforms supported by DB2 for Linux, as well as the first validated to run DB2 Enterprise Server Edition.
