G-Technology Inc. of Santa Monica, Calif. has announced a 1-Terabyte external storage drive, the G-RAID mini with RAID 0, which is scheduled to ship in March.
Designed for video editing while on the road, the G-RAID mini includes Triple FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interfaces. It can connect to both Windows and Macintosh workstations.
The vendor, which was recently acquired by San Mateo, Calif.-based Fabrik Inc., claims it can playback multiple layers of video simultaneously in Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier and Avid Xpress Pro.
The manufacturer is also unveiled the G-Drive mini Triple 500, which has 500 GB of memory and weighs 10 ounces. Designed to fit into computer, camera or camcorder bags, the Triple 500 is said to hold more than 45 hours of high definition video (or 125,000 MP3 files), or 200,000 JPEG photos of five megapixels each.
