Entrust adds layered security to Exchange Server

An Addison, Texas-based security technology provider hopes to apply its layered security model to enhance Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.

Entrust Inc. offers three components of the model: Entrust Unified Communications Certificates (UCC), Entrust Entelligence Messaging Server, and the Entrust IdentityGuard versatile authentication platform.

The goal is to provide users with technology that will help reap the most benefit out of Exchange Server 2007 by securing intellectual property and other sensitive information, the company said.

Specifically, two-factor authentication beats the rudimentary username and password method and data encrypted without inconveniencing users. Furthermore, the company said, Exchange Server 2007 relies on Unified Communications Certificates not provided natively by Microsoft
