Canadian incident reporting maker adds BI module

There’s almost no limit to where analytics can be used in an enterprise. That’s why an Ontario-based physical incident reporting software supplier has released a business intelligence add-on for its solution.

iView Systems of Oakville, Ont., said Thursday it is now selling the iTrak BI Module, which delivers dashboards from its iTrak Incident Reporting and Risk Management software and form other data sources.

“iTrak BI provides the ability to analyze a multitude of transactions and information on one centralized platform, empowering users to capture, analyze and glean actionable insight, hidden in the layers of data within your enterprise,” iView president Martin Drew said in a statement.

The Web-based  module has a large selection of high-quality data controls and visualizations including interactive charts, guagues, maps and scorecards the company said, that connects and consolidates data. Users can also write comments on the dashboards to be forwarded to other staff.

They also have a range of viewing options for both desktop and mobile delivery.

The BI module comes in two versions: Lite and Enterprise.

The module lets users drag and drop virtual tables, dimensions, datasets and key performance indicators to make dashboard creation easy. There are filter, drill down, pop up and hover over analysis capabilities. It comes with standard, financial and statistical formulas.

The results can be exported to Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, CSV, PDF or Image.

iTrak links to Microsoft SQL Server. The client is approved for Windows 7 and 8.

The BI module pulls data from iTrack Incident Reporting and Risk Management, which includes a daily log for recording incidents, case management, a briefing log, personnel management, a contact database and way to log vehicles for accident reports and claims.

Other optional modules that plug into the main application include capabilities for anonymous reporting, lost and found, work orders, dispatch and employee badging.
