Slack claims employees save over 90 minutes a week using new AI enabled search

Slack has introduced a suite of AI-powered enhancements aimed at streamlining workplace communication and improving productivity. They are using artificial intelligence to condense long threads and channel activities into succinct summaries, offering a novel solution for managing the deluge of workplace communications.

Slack’s new features, including AI-powered summaries of threads and channel recaps, are designed to help employees swiftly catch up on discussions and updates without sifting through every message. This will be helpful for all employees, but could be especially beneficial for new hires or those returning from breaks, ensuring they catch up with minimal effort.

Slack claims that its internal studies showed that employees had saved more than 90 minutes per week, a significant saving of time.

Unlike Microsoft’s Copilot, which will charge per user using the service, Slack will charge a fee for all users within an organization. The company says it will have free trials to help companies realize the value of the new offering.
