A recent survey of American information workers could very well apply to Canadians and their perception of communications technologies.
The survey, conducted by Pew Internet & American Life Project, showed that while increased connectivity through the Web and handheld devices could be advantageous, it was also a source of added stress.
While 80 per cent of respondents said these technologies helped them improve their ability to do their jobs, 46 per cent said it increased demands that they work more hours and 49 per cent said it elevated the stress level of their job.
