What you’ve been reading so far this year

The beginning of summer also marks the half-waypoint of the year, and while it’s hard to fathom on these warm, humid days, time is now ticking down toward the end of 2010. It seems fitting, therefore,to look back at the stories that interested you, our readers, in the first sixmonths of 2010.

The top story of the year thus far, and by ahealthy margin I might add, wouldn’t be in the top 50 for a general interestnews organization but it certainly highlights the interests of the audiencethat CDN serves, and that’s Maxine Cheung’s story on thelooming “Internet judgment day” about the shift from the IPV4 to IPV6 standardsand what it means for Internet users and businesses. An important issue for theCDN audience, to be sure.

You were also still interested in Nortel Networksand the integration of many of its assets by rival Avaya, reading Roberta Fox’sanalysis of the consolidation. You were concerned about memory issues with Windows7, the layoffs at Hewlett Packard, and David Suzuki’s thoughts on greening IT.Better understanding the cloud was a priority, along with Microsoft Office 2010and the enterprise opportunity with Apple.

When it comes to slideshows, you were very eager tolearn who CDN identified as the Top 20 women in the ITchannel, and to meet CDN’sTop 100 solution providers.

What you’ve read from CDN so far in 2010 showsthat, while you turn to us for breaking news in the IT channel, what interestsyou most are stories about the issues and developments that impact and help youdo your jobs. We’ll continue working to bring those stories to you in thesecond half of 2010, along with all the news that is sure to break in thisever-evolving industry.
