Vertical Communications has enhanced its SBX IP converged IP telephony system. The Santa Clara, Calif. company said that Release 3.0 provides increases in capacity to up to 48 stations from 32, and the ability to handle 32 analogue lines from 12. The addition of a T1/PRI interface board raises the number of T1 channels it can handle to 24.
SBX IP, developed with the help of an LG Electronics joint venture, is a small business telephony system that incorporates enterprise class features. These include integrated voice mail/auto attendant, Voice over IP (VoIP), CTI, conferencing, IP soft phone support and multi-site networking for single- and multi-location small businesses.
Other new features in R. 3.0 include record VMIB greeting remotely from CCR menu, CO Line preset forward, CCR busy/error/timeout destinations and call coverage of hunt groups.
In addition to the 24 T1 channels, the SBX IP will simultaneously support as many as six as analog lines, said Charles deTranaltes, Vertical Communications' product manager. The new release will allow the company's channel partners to begin selling SBX IP into significantly larger customers, he added.
