Tranzeo gets FCC green light for WiMAX pico base station

The Federal Communications Commission has approved the use of Tranzeo Wireless Technologies' WiMAX pico base station in the United States. The TR-WMX-3.65-pBS pico Base Station can be used in the semi-licensed band from 3.65-3.7GHz.
The Pitt Meadows, B.C. firm said the turnkey WiMAX solution is ideal for broadband services in that band including rural residential and enterprise applications. “With this regulatory approval, Tranzeo now offers a complete and cost-effective solution for wireless service providers in the U.S. to take advantage of the lightly licensed 3.65GHz spectrum,” Dave Gelvin, president of Tranzeo Wireless USA, said in a news release.
According to the FCC, more than 600 service providers have already obtained 3.65GHz licenses.
