Symantec CEO: no plans to upgrade to Vista

By: IT News BlogCanadian technology blogger Mark Evans comments on Symantec CEO John Thompson's (and ostensibly, Symantec as a whole) decision to not upgrade to Windows Vista. Evans thinks this is motivated in part by the new enhanced security features in Vista, which puts the two companies at odds with each other (Symantec's entire M.O. is security, whereas Vista's new Defender program provides built-in competition to Symantec products). There's also speculation that Microsoft is planning another OS for release in 2009.
Chris Garrett is also talking about reasons not to upgrade to Vista, including what he says is a slower and more frustrating experience than Windows XP.
Debate over Vista in the blogosphere seems to only just be getting started.
