Persystent Technologies released a tool to ease the deployment and maintenance of virtual desktop environments by automatically enforcing the desired state of individual desktops.
The Tampa, Florida-based company said Persystent Virtualization eliminates the need for IT to continually reconfigure desktops and lets users to customize their virtual desktop with features like address books, desktop shortcuts and wallpaper, within enforced corporate configuration standards.
The company’s chief technology officer, Bob Whirley, said the software makes “virtualization far more flexible and adaptive to the needs of individual users.”
It also preserves settings to ensure compliance with corporate policy guidelines and governance requirements for improved service levels and business continuity, the company said. As well, the software eases the process of applying software patches by capturing an updated image and deploying it across desktops.
