Party On! At A Windows 7 Launch Party Near You

So where has Pedro been? Well, it’s been one of those months whereeven burning the candle at both ends hasn’t allowed for much bloggingopportunity.  That stuff we call “work & life” – note to self:need to build up a stash of articles for times like this.  Won’t dothat again….so if anyone is still out there listening, get this!  I’mgoing to be hosting a Geeking Out In Georgetown Windows 7 Launch Party!

This will so NOT be my Windows 7 Launch Party!

Yes, I know. {Insert Microsoft/Geek JokeHere}.  A Windows 7 launch party host – not exactly an impressivepickup line for a Saturday night.  But then again, I’m happily marriedwith a history of being able to “geek it out with the best” – so whynot.  After all, the mid 90’s was the last time I was at any similartype of geek event.  Remember lugging your “gaming desktop” tosomeone’s place for those “gaming lan parties”? Quake, Descent, UnrealTournament, Starcraft.  Simpler times – now that was “geeky”.

So why am I doing it?

Is it because Microsoft is doing a bang up job at marketingthis event? Not exactly. In fact, had I seen these video’s prior toregistering – I probably would never have thrown my hat into the ring.

Is it because of the free stuff?

  • All hosts will receive:
  • Also included in USA party packs:
  • Well, the free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate certainly doesn’thurt. It also has the potential of being the most most significantoperating system launches in the last 10 years.  It is certainly make or break time for Microsoft, and this sets the stage for the battle against the Google OS.

So time to start thinking about what I will plan for my Windows 7 Launch Party.  Here’s my list so far:

    2. Free Wi-Fi!

    3. XBox 360 & PS3 Gaming stations

    4. Windows 7 “hands on” machine – hooked up to 52″ LCD Widescreen and home theater sound system
