Our new Tech Learning Space course: Making sense of social media

Using Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn can be an education in frustration. That's why we're offering education in social media specifically for business people.

Starting later this month, our TechLearningSpace.com portal will be offering Masters Certification Level One: Making Sense of Social Media. Here's the course description:

Making Sense Of Social Media – Masters Level I course gives business, communications, marketing and IT practitioners the strategic and practical approaches to excel in social media applications to support: customers, employees and partners.

This course clearly links social media theory with practical and proven ROI case studies and addresses the roots and definitional constructs from leading practices for both profit and non profit organizations. Key areas covered include: blogs, micro-blogs, crowd sourcing, social bookmarking, social networking and wikis.

I'm pleased to announce that Dr. Cindy Gordon, president of Helix Commerce and a popular speaker at our CIO events, will be the course instructor. Cindy is a great advocate for these tools and she's extremely well-connected to many Canadian business leaders — in IT as well as though far outside it — who are case studies in successful adoption.

Registration is still open. Most IT people have probably already signed up to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Why not sign up for this, too?
