Lay off the layoffs, please!

As if the constant doom and gloom in the news media wasn’t enough already, a company called Telonu has come out with a widget called Layoff Tracker that helps users keep abreast of the seismic contraction in the global labour force.

“New layoffs are announced every day and it can be tough to stay on top of the different companies and number of layoffs,” the company said. “This widget, the Layoff Tracker, can easily be added to any blog or Website, allowing quick and easy access to layoff related data. The widget is a great tool for both your personal reference and to keep your readers informed with up to date layoff numbers.”

Thanks, Telonu, but we at Shark Tales are too busy creating a widget of our own that projects a holographic image of an axe hanging over the user’s head. That is, we were working on it until we realized the fastest way to get laid off is by spending office hours screwing around with widgets.
