Brodkin told CDN he’s beeninvolved with Symantec since before he even began HighVail and back when the NetBackuptechnology that is now under Symantec was owned by Openvision, which was lateracquired by Veritas and used in conjunction with its Veritas File Manageroffering.
“Those were the two core products we’ve (Brodkinand his partner) been involved with since the beginning of our careers. We havea long legacy,” he said. “That continued when we created HighVail and it’sbasically a core part of our business, along with Sun and Hitachi.”
HighVail achieved impressive 380 per cent growth inits Symantec business last year, said Brodkin, thanks in large part to a coupleof customers that executed major transactions due to their need to grow up to enterprise-classlicenses, which also helped HighVail become a Platinum partner with Symantec.
“We’re continuing to grow and expand our deviceofferings with Symantec with their decision to get out of the direct businessand have partners lead with services,” said Brodlin.
