MacsDesign Studio LLC of Fremont, Calif. has released Web Help Desk, a portal that lets users submit service requests through a Web interface.
It is written in Java and works on Windows, Solaris, Mac OS X Server and Linux.
Web Help Desk lets support staff add notes to their service tickets and can be programmed to let administrators route requests to technicians based on their location, skills work schedule and workload. It also lets administrators route requests to work pools so support staff can select jobs as they become available.
MacsDesign says the software can convert e-mails to work tickets.
