The latest version of Fortinet's FortiClient Endpoint Protection Suiteintroduces what the company says is a host of enterprise-class featuresfor performance-intensive environments. FortiClient 4.1 PremiumEdition offers new features including SSL VPN, WAN optimization,application detection and endpoint control. The new version can providebroad protection for laptops and PCs or be implemented modularly toco-exist with other dedicated security products for endpoints, thecompany said. Premium Editon costs US$29 per user. Fortinet also offersa free standard version of FortiClient 4.1. that doesn't come with theFortiManager endpoint management. The client line also includesFortiMobile for Windows Mobile, Symbian and Pocket PC. It includesIPSec VPN, phone security with handset data encrypt/decrypt, personalfirewall, antivirus, incoming call filter, SMS antispam andmulti-language support.
