EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. has created what it callsan entry-level point test solution for voice-over-Internet protocol(VoIP) and Internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) applications.The Quebec City company said its QualityAssurer QA-604 Next-Generation Network Test Platformand the high-performance Signaling Centric Module Gigabit Ethernet(SCM-GbE) Interface lets service providers and network equipmentmakers perform comprehensive device and end-to-end VoIP and IMS testingusing a single platform. The QA-604 supports the same test functionsand features as the EXFO’s InterWatch R14, but in a smaller, 2U formfactor. The QA-604 platform and the SCM-GbE module can be combined withEXFO’s hssFlex and sipFlex software test suites, which were designedwith built-in test functionality, providing a comprehensive IMS testbed. This complete solution enables network equipment manufacturers(NEMs) and network service providers (NSPs) to perform comprehensivedevice and end-to-end VoIP and IMS testing using a single platform.
It can do session border controller, security gateways and bordergateway function tests, IMS S/I/P CSCFs and HSS tests, VoIP proxy andregistrar tests, Presence and IP Centrex application server tests andPacketCable CMS tests. No pricing was announced.
