NetScout Systems Inc.'s nGenius Service Assurance Solution can now signal real-time alerts to three security and compliance applications from ArcSight Inc., the companies announced in a press release. This comes after NetScout joined ArcSight's common event format program (CEF). NetScout's deep packet inspection appliance is able to send alerts to ArcSight Logger, Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) and ArcSight Express. Integration between ArcSight platforms and the nGenius Service Assurance Solution requires the recently released nGenius Service Delivery Manager module.
Many alerts include contextual links back to stored packet-flow data, the press release said, enabling granular analysis of a specific threat event. This streamlines post-event analysis and workflows, the companies said.
ArcSight CEF certification enables plug-and-play deployment, the release said, so that upon connection, alerts from the nGenius solution can be immediately leveraged by with no additional configuration or tuning.
