A new recruitment site called Labels.io officially launchedthis month in an effort to better fulfill the needs of hiring managers lookingfor specific skills. The Romanian company is addressing what it calls “theburgeoning number of social networks and recruitment Web sites” that hasexploded onto the scene in recent years.

While the site is still in its very early stages with veryfew users with posted profiles (for example, a search term for virtualizationgarnered no results), this idea has a lot of promise.

Most recruiters are really only looking for your pasteducation/work experience, your technical skill set and a few points about yourpersonality.

A recruiter looking for an employee with highly specializedtechnical skills should be able to simply type in a search term like “Java” or“CSS” to find some relevant candidates. Having to wade through piles of resumesand cover letters is unproductive to the recruiter and was probably pretty timeconsuming for the job seeker as well.

“Three, four and five-page résumés are boring andunnecessary, diluting key information needed by employer to quickly and easilyidentify qualified candidates,” said Labels.io CEO Octavian Popescu in arelease.

I’m not sure Labels.io will be the job site that actuallymakes this become a reality, but it’s certainly the first one I’ve seen that istrying to give a facelift to the typical recruitment procedure.
