A 2011 telecom conference advancer

Organizers of the two big annual telecommunications conferences are getting their lineups in place for their upcoming shows.
The Canadian Telecommunications Consultants Association, celebrating its 25th anniversary, is returning to Ottawa May 3-6 with the theme of “Capitalizing on Consulting.” Among the speakers will be entrepreneur Terry Matthews; Wind Mobile chair Anthony Lacavera; Barrett Xplore CEO John Maduri; Bill Hutchison, chair of Toronto's i-Waterfront Advisory Council and Dr. Veena Rawat, president of the Communications Research Centre.
Panels will include the future of collaboration, collaboration case studies and taking advantage of social media. The conference will be held at Matthews' Brookstreet Resort in Kanata.
The full agenda will be available in the second week of January.
The CTCA represents some 100 independent telecom consultants across the country.
The Canadian Telecom Summit returns to the Toronto Congress Centre May 31-June 2, with CRTC chair Konrad von Finckenstein and Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association CEO Bernard Lord on the roster as usual. Others lined up so far include Wind's Lacavera, Ericsson Canada CEO Mark Henderson, Juniper Networks executive VP Kim Perdikou and Videotron CEO Robert Depatie.
Among the panels scheduled so far are discussions on the fourth-generation wireless technology LTE, cloud computing, wireless broadband, privacy, unified communications and, as always, the free-for-all on regulatory issues.
