Microsoft Corp. has released Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000, a bundle of all updates and patches for the operating system released since Service Pack 3 last August.
Microsoft also updated the End User License Agreement (EULA) for Windows 2000 to address privacy concerns. Users are now told more specifically about features in the product that will “call home” to Microsoft, said Bob O’Brien, group product manager in Microsoft’s Windows Server Division.
Service Pack 4 does not bring any new features to Windows 2000. It includes all security fixes and driver updates released since Service Pack 3 and is meant for customers who want to do maintenance on their own schedule, O’Brien said.
