Citrix Systems will provide its Citrix Presentation Serverproducts to all organizations covered by the Audit Act as part ofVictoria’s e-government strategy for communications.

“The Victorian government’s e-government vision recognizes thevalue of information and technology to link different governmentprograms and resources in a seamless way,” Victorian government CIOJane Treadwell said in a statement.

“It involves coordinating and integrating services andinformation from local and federal governments and the privatesector with the aim of making communication and dealings withgovernment more convenient and simpler for citizens.”

E-government has the potential to reduce service delivery costs, eliminate unnecessary duplication and in some cases make itpossible to meet emerging needs without restructuring agencies orprograms, Treadwell said.
