Montreal-based networking and e-business provider Solution Integration of New Concepts (SINC) announced Thursday the opening of an IBM business partner-affiliated WebSphere Innovation Center at its Quebec headquarters.
The facility will be the 18th such centre worldwide and the first WebSphere Innovation Centre operating in Canada, according to SINC.
John Donaldson, business unit executive, WebSphere, IBM Canada said in a prepared statement that the WebSphere Innovation Center marks SINC’s effort to transition its customers to IBM’s next-generation e-business solutions.
The Center enables the ability for customers to explore WebSphere options through a simulated IT environment, Donaldson added.
Through a partnership with Toronto-based Cisco Systems Canada Inc., the Center also features a Cisco laboratory with access to a wide range of hardware and software solutions, SINC said.
“The Center’s infrastructure provides clients, partners and experts with a unique opportunity to explore the solutions that best fit the particular needs and requirements of their e-business evolution”, says Jean Perron, president, SINC Development in a statement. “The WebSphere Innovation Center approach allows companies to make strategic and well-informed technological investments tailored towards improving business performance,” Perron said.
SINC said the Center will provide access to a variety of hardware platforms and operating environments, allowing clients to “test-drive” technological solutions in a reproduction of their real business IT infrastructure.
The Center will also provide proof-of-concept (POC) support and customer technical briefings, SINC said, adding that after the initial launch, the location will host monthly showcase and seminars.
