Oracle Corp. launched the latest version of its customer relationship management (CRM) sales application, Oracle Sales, on Wednesday. The offering includes a new application called Oracle Proposals, the company said.
Oracle Sales is a part of the Oracle E-Business Suite and according to the Redwood Shores, Calif.-based company, it automates business processes across all sales and customer interaction channels from lead to order.
According to the company, Oracle Sales includes many different applications. Included in the package are: Oracle Field Sales, an application that allows sales reps to register their prospects for marketing events directly from the sales system; Oracle TeleSales, which allows call centre agents to update their daily activities directly in their universal work queue; Oracle Sales Offline, which provides access to information and processes that was previously available online only; Oracle Quoting, an application that allows sales professionals to update quote lines within a single screen, allowing the most valuable information to be displayed; and lastly, Oracle Incentive Compensation which allows sales reps to personalize their commission plan structure.
Oracle Proposals – the newest addition to Oracle Sales – generates customer-ready personalized proposals from templates for sales workers. The application automates the process of creating customer proposals, meaning that sales professionals will have more time to focus on selling instead of dealing with sales administration activities, according to the company.
Oracle Proposals provides a list of pre-defined, pre-approved proposal templates that are available in different formats and which can be electronically sent to customers or printed out to be mailed or faxed.
The application tracks which proposals are sent to which customers allowing sales reps to monitor their interactions with their clients and the effectiveness of different proposal formats. The proposal templates can be customized and reused, said the company.
